Harry Bateman and Carly Beck have won the Mens and Womens Lawnmaster Classic held at the Manawatu Golf Club over the weekend,
Bateman from Christchurch rattled up the leaderboard in Sunday mornings third round after an impressive 67 when all his opponents were struggling to shoot par. He took the lead going into the fourth round which he would not surrender. Manawatu's and defending champion Josh Munn finished tied for second in his defence of the title with Levin's Tyler Hodge. Manawatu junior Trent Munn finished a creditable fourth.
Carly Beck from Australia managed to hold off a rampaging Julianne Alvarez to win the ladies by one shot. Beck was impressive all weekend with four solid rounds of Golf finishing seven under the card. Manawatu's Emma Clayton finished fourth.
